The Magic Triangle

There are many good reasons for buying property in this part of France - the triangle between the cities of Angoulême, Limoges and Périgueux, a lot of this area is within the Perigord-Limousin Regional Nature Park, which has forests, lakes and rivers with small towns, villages and hamlets, scattered around.

The cities themselves offer shopping, arts and historical monuments and have good transport links - Angoulême the TGV rail station link to Paris and Lille then London; Limoges an impressive railway station with lines to Paris and from there to the UK, it also boasts a busy airport with flights to many parts of the UK and the motorway leading north; Périgueux has its rail links and a small airport with flights mainly to Paris. Other airports with international connections available are Bergerac and Bordeaux.

During the summer months especially, there are lots of festivities, "Vide Greniers" "Empty your Attics" sales of all sorts of goods like a car boot sale; flower festivals, night markets, feasts, dances, fireworks and entertainment. For the sports lovers, tennis, swimming in some lovely leisure lakes or boating, cycling, walking etc. It is an ideal area for fishing in rivers or lakes with some specialising in carp, there are often fishing contests. Frequently you can find theatrical or musical events in village halls, churches and outdoors, these are usually well-attended and good fun.
